Explore 2022

These 3 days are in addition to the scheduled Year 7 Induction day on 5 July. This is only open to new Yr7 students at Backwell School.

All the activities are held in a safe environment and are run by experienced, qualified staff. This year we are offering this unique opportunity to the Year 6 students that will be joining us here at Backwell School in September 2022.

The three days are run by our partner PH Sports, who alongside some Backwell School Staff will introduce the students to Backwell School. Students will be encouraged to try new activities, make new friends and most importantly have an action packed and fun time that will increase their confidence.

When is Explore?
Explore is a three day event running from Monday 25 July – Wednesday 27 July 2022.
Each day starts at 9.30am and finishes at 3.15pm.

What are the lunch arrangements?
Students will need to bring a packed lunch with them each day and plenty to drink.
Lunch will be an hour each day with activities running over lunchtimes and if the weather is good it will be outside in a supervised area.

Please remember to bring a sun hat and sun cream.

What will happen each day?
Each day the students, within their activity groups, will rotate through the different activities.
By the end of the 3 days they will have taken part in every activity.

Students will be in activity groups and based on tutor group allocations we will endeavour to place students with their new classmates. However, this may not always be possible.
